Renato SousaI'm a Chemical Engineer, working for several years in the area of Fluid Mechanics and Heat transfer.
I discovered Blender by chance in 2009 while preparing a presentation for a friend's wedding. Since then, I've been using Blender intensively as a hobby and also as 3D modeller freelancer. I have participated in the first edition of The Nature Academy, from Andrew Price (Blender Guru) in 2011, where I learned the techniques to create some of my image gallery nature scenes. Also participated in the Mastering Modeling in Blender workshop in CGCookie. In 2012 I've been involved in the creation of the ProBlender - Associação Portuguesa de Blender (Portuguese Blender Association), where the objective is to help to disseminate Blender as an open source alternative to commercial software, in the area of 3D modelling, animation, rendering and game engine, among other possibilities. We have already organized this conference in April 2013 in Oporto, Blender Portuguese Meeting in April 2015 in Coimbra and the Blender-PT 2016 Conference also in Coimbra. My current projects in Blender include the creation of a short animation film and to visualize experimental data. I'm also a programmer, developing python scripts for Blender personalized use and exploring the new OSL scripting for Cycles. Apart from Blender I also use my post-labour hours to develop Android Apps and to play some snooker. |
